My Philosophy

As seen on a Sussex Directories Inc site

Welcome to Solutions Behavioral Health Services and Consultation. I’m Mary Jane McGill, and I’m dedicated to providing a safe, confidential space where we can work together to develop strategies that help you accomplish your personal and professional goals.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My approach is founded on the core belief that every person has the capacity for growth and change. Inspired by the wisdom of humanistic pioneers, I focus on creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can not only explore challenges but also discover your own strengths and potential.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” (Carl Rogers)

“My goal is to help my clients get excited about who they are and what they can achieve.”  (Virginia Satir)

Meet Mary Jane McGill, LCMHCS, LCAS, CCS

With a passion for helping others that spans back to 1977, I am a dedicated and experienced counselor, supervisor, and consultant serving clients across North Carolina. My practice, Solutions Behavioral Health Services, is founded on the simple but powerful belief that ‘Our Mission Is Your Success.’

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), I hold a deep and varied expertise. My work covers a wide range of needs, from providing compassionate mental health and substance use counseling for individuals, to offering expert consultation for organizations, to mentoring the next generation of therapists.

I believe deeply in the paradox that ‘when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.’ My role is to provide the guidance, support, and professional strategies to help you navigate that process of change and move confidently in the direction of your goals.

What to Expect

What is the first session like?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brings you to counseling and what you hope to achieve, and you can ask any questions you have about the process.

How long does a typical session last?

Individual counseling sessions are typically 50-55 minutes long.

How do I know if we are a good fit?

The therapeutic relationship is key to success. The first few sessions are a good opportunity for you to determine if you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for all my clients.
